Picking options: How inFlow picks products in stock

inFlow’s picking options let you control which sublocations inFlow picks from when you fulfill an order. inFlow recommends sublocations based on the order’s location, and inventory is automatically deducted from the sublocations in that location.

Available picking options

Picking option	When to use it
Default sublocation first, then other sublocations alphabetically	Best when your sublocations are organized alphabetically. This method is often preferred if your inventory layout follows a “street style” system.
Default sublocation first, then other sublocations by highest quantity	Useful if you want inFlow to pick from the sublocation holding the most stock after the default sublocation.
Lowest quantity first, with default sublocation last	Picks from the sublocation with the lowest quantity first, then the next lowest. This helps you empty out nearly finished sublocations.

Selecting a picking option

Go to inFlow’s Inventory settings (from the Main Menu, hover over the Settings icon , then select Inventory).
Click on Picking options.
Select your preferred picking setting.
Click Save.

Picking options for lot-tracked products

If a product is lot-tracked, inFlow selects a lot before choosing a sublocation. Your picking option only decides which sublocation inFlow suggests when that lot’s stock is spread across more than one sublocation.

The Picking options window also includes a Lot-tracked product options section, where you can customize lot suggestions for products that don’t track expiry dates.

Turn on Suggest lots based on first-in, first-out order to have inFlow suggest your oldest lots first (FIFO).
