Barcoding your shelves

Barcoding your shelves

Now that you have barcodes into inFlow, it’s time to start barcoding your shelves. For this you don’t need any special equipment, you just need access to a printer, scissors and some tape. Barcoding your shelves can be done with 3 easy steps.

  1. Printing your barcodes.
  2. Cutting out the barcodes labels.
  3. Taping your labels to your shelves.

Printing your barcodes

  1. Go to https://app.inflowinventory.com/options/company
  2. Under the Generate barcodes section, click on Print barcodes
  3. A new tab will be opened with a barcode label that shows the item name/code, the barcode, and the barcode number. Print this page by using File>Print in your browser.

Cutting out the barcode labels

  1. To get your shelving organized, cut the barcode labels individually so that they can all be taped to the shelf where your products are located.
  2. Once they’re all cut, take them to your shelves.

Taping your labels to your shelves

  1. Now that you have all your labels at your shelves, it’s time to tape them to the correct places.
  2. With the tape of your choice, tape the barcode label to the shelf for the appropriate items.
  3. Repeat the above steps until all of your shelves are barcoded.

With this final step complete, when it’s time to pick products for your sales orders, you’ll be able to quickly scan with your mobile app to make picking quick and efficient.
