In this customer spolight we talk to Diane Black who uncovered an unmet need after going through the process of planning and spending for her own wedding.

Hi, my name is Diane Black. My husband and I founded our online store, “The Wedding Blinger”, after suffering from frustration and extreme expenses while arranging our own wedding.

I love beautiful things and enjoy the challenge of researching the market to bring customers a collection that emphasizes beauty and elegance. We found when you mention the word “wedding”,  the price goes up another 50%, so we wanted to establish a business with classy wedding accessories that everyday people can afford. We have personally researched and collected jewelry, parasols, tiaras, albums, guest books, hair accessories and much more from all over the world to bring to our customers online.

What products or services does your business offer?

Over time, we have expanded to include all ranges of jewellery from formal to everyday wear. Rhinestone fashion jewellery, gold and silver plated, sterling silver, rolled gold, crystal, pearl and various semi precious stones. So, if you have a special occasion or just want to spoil yourself, look no further. Go to www.theweddingblinger.com.au

What are some day to day challenges you face?

The only challenge I face is getting our name out there online. It seems that you have to spend a small fortune on Google Ad Words and your site still doesn’t seem to come up in a search. I know you have to spend money to make money but I’m spending more than I make at the moment in attempt at spreading the word about our site.

inFlow works well for me. It keeps track of inventory and costs and allows me to assign product codes. I also to rely on the reports you can generate.

What advice could you give to other small businesses?

“Just do it”. Work hard and you can achieve anything. If you are passionate about what you do, you will succeed. Research and know your product and its market. Ensure you have a good operating system that suits your business, Stay positive and don’t give up.
